Handcrafted Rentals

blog

where, Oh, where has holmespun been?

There is something in the April air.

We're breaking our [blog] silence with the arrival of the Spring Equinox. As the warm weather graces us with it's presence my creative side has returned the favor. You know that feeling when lightening strikes? That same lightbulb that went off when you met your fated signif other; or when you graduated college and realized (all too late) what sort of impact you want to make on this world? I had a moment just as so this week.

For those who may not know, holmespun is a side job for Kevin and I; one that we hope can be OUR full time gig someday. Life as we know it today consists of Kevin working full time managing his Father's furniture store & I, part-time for a separate furniture + interior design company. I have recently taken over their social media department and am actively working on finding their brand's persona {enter recent & unintentional holmespun-social-media-hiatus}. Between my job, holmespun, mothering Oliver and growing another little human inside my womb, I've been micro managing every hour of the day (some of those hours may or may not include salt baths by the candlelight).  The holmespun front has been busy with the construction of our (soon-to-be-released) benches, styled shoots, 2017 wedding planning and networking with local vendors - all very exciting stuff that has kept us especially busy!

Since Kevin does the building and that beautiful dance of moving tables around, the planning, visuals and book-keeping falls in my department. It's the kind of organizing that I thrive on - creative freedom + excel workbooks. This new venture that came to me is heavy on the creative / homemaking side which feels a little bit like the restoration of my soul after 4+ months of cabin fever.

It may be a belated 'New Year - New Us' campaign but like...isn't Spring all about being reborn?
